Tabifier - Automagically "Tabifies" Your Web Page

This script automagically turns your web page "tabbed".

Getting Started

1. Copy and paste the following:
   <style>.tab { display: none };</style> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://blog.livedoor.jp/dankogai/js/tabifier.js"></script> <div id="tabheader"></div><div id="tabbody"></div> <div class="tab" title="Title 1"> </div> <div class="tab" title="Title 2"> </div>
2. Put the tab title in <div class="tab" title="Title 1">のtitle. And fill the content in the <div> tag.
3. You may add as many tabs as you like. Any tags where class="tab" are "tabified".

Customize

Set the javascript variables below to customze the look & feel of the tab. (RHS is the default)

Just peek and poke these to find what they mean.

How does it work?

1. Upon loding (window.onload) the style of <div class="tab"> are all set { visibility: hidden } and the content of <div class="tabheader"> is replaced with tab headers.
2. And when the tab is clicked, the content of <div class="tabbody"> gets replaced with the corresponding <div class="tab"> via element.innerHTML.

Conflict?

• Sometimes <div class="tab"> is occupied. In such cases, just add
  <script> var tabClassName = 'mytab'; </script>
  And replace <div class="tab"> with <div class="mytab">.
• In some environment (including Typepad :-(), window.onload is clobbered so Tabifier is not initialized. For such cases, add a link like this:
  <a href="#" onclick="tab.init()">Click Here to Get Started!</a>

Most "modern" browsers (IE6, Firefox 1.501, Safari) should be ok. Sorry, old browsers like NS4 and IE4 are not. Post a comment here if you have a problem.
